Storytelling and Other Shenanigans
The island of Newfoundland breeds storytellers, and Midnight Watch embraces that tradition. They back up their tales of hard work and heartbreak with a powerful sound that's equal parts country twang and alternative muscle. They're becoming notorious for a live show that's part rock and roll jam, part hangout with old friends, and always a party.
An unlikely combination of St. John's music scene veterans, each the four members bring a unique dimension to their sound. Singer and songwriter Evan AuCoin is the big voice and bigger heart of the band's sound, while Kieran Dooley's guitar work adds textures that range from tear-stained slide licks to screaming solos. Liam Peacock adds high, sweet harmonies while forming a rock-solid rhythm section with drummer Lucas Spurrell. Together they're working towards one goal - to pump as much life and tunefulness into their stories as humanly possible.
Their 2024 debut album, "Ghost Hours" was a statement showing off a little bit of everything audiences can expect from Midnight Watch, and later that year, they released an acoustic EP, "Moonshiner", where they dug deep into the country and folk roots that feed their sound. With a follow-up to Ghost Hours coming in 2026, Midnight Watch are planning an album that will include everything from murder ballads to ruminations on Marcel Proust - because there's no limit on where you can find a good story.
